Small subjects...

I am getting excited because my tracking info shows that I will get to meet my new EOS-40D tomorrow!

I hope we get to be friends quickly!! Lol...

I got to thinking about whether I will keep or sell my current XTi and pulled it out and took a few photos...

This is a 1/24th scale 1940 Ford Cabover, so it's actually about eight inches long.

I enjoy taking photos of these smaller objects to make backgrounds.

A good eye would recognize the Dale Earnhardt #3 car in the fog on the back... Lol...

I don't get as much free time lately as we're training and preparing to launch new manufacturing software at work and it has soaked up a lot of my time.

I do however really enjoy seeing the flurry of photos posted here lately!!

Thanks a million for sharing!

Bob

Thanks!

I enjoy shooting things like that...

Oh my... The 40d came today and has that new car smell..

I like how it feels.. a bit more substantial than the XTi...

We'll see how it goes!!

I love old cars as well and I was glad to see Jr. win the first race of the season and hope he will do as well at the Daytona 500
Thanks for sharing.

Hope you like the 40D, I am sure that you will. I am in the process of learning the XTi. Thanks for your guidance on it a while back.

bob, I have had my 40D for about 4 months now and absolutely love it...My first Canon, previous Nikon user for many decades....I got the 23-135 kit lens and it does a decent job...hope you enjoy the camera...Richard R

I love my XTi also!

It replaced an XT, and I found it to be so much more friendly than the XT...

I really like some of the features on the 40D.. Small things as simple as a 2 second and a 10 second timer...

Lol... I don't know what it is about it, but I do enjoy taking photos of the "little" things.

I didn't use it with my new camera yet but I made a lightbox of sorts a while back... I used PVC pipe, a couple of bed sheets and clamp on lights... It takes down easily for storage and works great for the small stuff.

I need to pick up a 16 x 16 glossy black marble or faux marble square of tile to put under some objects.... I'd like to try some of those sort of product shots on a reflective base..

Yes! I enjoy turning on the race when I'm home! I don't seem to sit still too often and I don't make a lot of time for it in particular but I do enjoy it when it's there!

The snow has been amazing here this year, and the more snowboarding that I do, the faster the winter goes by!! Lol...
