small pin? from scouts?

Went hiking on a trail way up into the redwoods. I found a couple pin backs and this small pin with what looks like 2 leaves? Any idea what it is from?
 
That's a clip that holds on a crest to clothing and baseball caps, military rank insignias, etc.

See it on the back of this one:
 
I know what a "pin back" looks like. The small other two leaf looking symbol on the pin to the right of the two "Pin backs" is what I am trying to get identified.
 
Looked up images for ecology symbols. Found this... May get you on the right track.
