Small metal tin

I found this small metal tin today. I am not sure if the green center is the bottom or top and the green is very smooth feeling. It appears that this tin may be able to open but I have been unable to open it and don't want to force it at this point. I have Googled many different phrases to see if I could find a picture of something similar and no luck.

My E-TRAC was screaming on it. ha ha. I just had to dig it. Any clue???

On another forum site...been getting lots of input that this may be some type of a makeup tin such as a vintage rouge tin container or lip balm container. It definitely has that type of appearance but can't seem to find one that looks like mine.

I received some tips on how to gently get it open so once I do, I will let you know if it contains anything.

It apears to be a "Compact".
They contained rouge and powders and the likes in them just like you eluded too.
You should see a small hinged area with a pin around the center radius somewhere.
I would soak it in a warm water/soap solution and then see if you can open it.

Go to your the Internet and type in "vintage ladies compact" you can view all types of them.

Actually, I was thinking small "pill tin" for medication. May be another avenue to search...

Cool no matter what it turns out to be.

Happy hunting!
