Was able to got a good signal on a small gold ring , at 8.25" deep , using the 10x12 Dd coil in disc set at foil, later i also tried the 7" widescan and it hit the ring as well , this detectors makes better signals on gold for shure . hiting high conductors like dimes is probly one of the hardest things and i think it did good on those. considering this ground balances at 85 with the Gold bug I have also ordered a 8.5" widscan and we will se how that does. No I sold the 8" donut coil but am getting a 8,5 widscan , but even the 7" widscan gets the 8.25" ring you know the outlaw is not super deep , but i would say it has good depth, but nothing has a all metal like this thing has , and its ability to relick hunt is asounding , I was out with it in the thick brush, last nite and in spots that i could just only move the coil along in between sticks and branches and found a few things and one a shot shell at 8" deep that was making a great sound , the outlaw is a keeper detector ,

Oh ok, well if the widescan coils are a better option for you in your area then that is the way to go then. I'm pretty certain if the 7" was hitting it then the donut would have gotten it as well. I noticed that the uMax line is not exactly known for extreme depth but who really needs to dig that deep anyway for most types of hunting. Thanks for the reply, look forward to more from you and the Outlaw!

habinaro i do beleive the 8" donut will go deeper than the 7" widscan its a good deep coil .

I have to agree with your relic experience. Since getting on to all-metal mode I am really having a blast with this thing.

Please quit talking about how good this machine is on relics...I'm losing my resistance...can't take much more...:tesoro::detecting::tesoro:
