Small dated piece from the stagecoach field

This is a small piece that I had found in the field where we have been looking for a rumored stagecoach stop....When I had first popped this out of the hole, I thought it was a gold zipper pull....The backside has a gold type plating to it....when I got it home and cleaned it, I saw that it was dated....it has a date of Nov. 27. 1863! I thought that was pretty cool! I have no idea what this come off of, but maybe someone on here will....I have it shown with a dime for scale....
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look....

I like to find anything with old dates! It is decorative. Might be part of a suspender buckle? I did a google for patents with that Nov 27 1863 date and came up empty handed. Tough for me to tell by the pic. But if that 1863 were really an 1883, there are lots of patent possibilities! Anywhere from a bottle stopper to garmet straps to pots and pans. JMHO HH Randy

Don't know what it could be but. But a date of 1863 still a neat find!
