Sunray X5, X8 and Detech 13 incher!

Here's a link to field tests of small coils that Bryce ( the Moderator of the Minelab Explorer forum ) posted - tons of great info. here !

I've been using the 6" Excellerator coil for over a year now - I've put approx. 1000 hrs. on this little coil - love it !
Great depth ( 8" - 9" Dimes) - excellent target separation in iron - pinpoints like a laser - fantastic for getting into tight spots -
and a huge plus ... it's not an open spoke type coil, so no hangups on brush stubble !

Good luck ! --- Mark

I use the 6" Excellerator EQ2 Pro coil as well and can confirm the depth that E-TRAC-OHIO stated. All of the coils mentioned are excellent coils. I went with the 6" Excellerator because it had good reviews and was less expensive.

In trash that defeats my stock coil the Sunray X-5 produces for me!

I have had excellent results with my SEF 6x8. I have en route as we speak a 6" Excellerator coil to try out. They are supposed to be good so we'll give it a try.....

While it does not seem to be one of the more popular coils, I just love my 4.5x7 excelerator coil. It is very light and easy to swing, pinpoints like a dream, covers a little more ground than the 5 or 6 inch coils and gives excellent separation as we as good depth (about 8-9 inches in my experience). I would love to try the 6x8 SEF but it has not YET been added to my arsenal. I am hoping that I will find enough with the Etrac so that it will pay for that coil.

Yes, the X5 is a DD type of coil.

I think Detech make the SEF coils.

I use the 6" excelerator coil and it just found me a gold ring.
I really like it eventhough I've always wanted the 5x10 joey coil, but just can't come up with 250 bucks.

Be in tomorrow by fedex.let you know tomorrow nite what I think. My hunting partner just got a 4x6 or his mxt and you know I have to beat him with my etrac.lol.not really I am lucky to have such a good hunting buddy and I am proud everytime he finds a good find excecpt when he found a csa belt plate and I was still happy for him just a bit jealous but still very prourd for him. Thanks again for everyones input on the small coils.
