Here are the coils that everyone is going to tell you. You will get a mixed reply as to which one is the best. They are all very good coils and you would not go wrong with any of them. I use the EQ 2 Pro because it has comparably performance and cost a little less. It's not as big as the 8X6 SEF.
If money was no object, I would get the X5 for trash and the 8X6 as it doubles as a good everyday coil and is good in trash.
SunRay X5,
4.5 x 7" DD EXcelerator
6" DD EXcelerator EQ 2 Pro
EXcelerator 8x6" SEF (Butterfly)
I called Kelly co on tuesday to order the 6" EX EQ2 Pro,out of them so I asked for the 8x6 SEF,out of them, asked when they would have them, they didn"t know. So I called Bart. at Big Boys who sold me my E-Trac and ordered the X5 Sun Ray with the lower shaft. Igot it today (48 Hrs.) took it out for two hours at a very trashy school and could'nt believe how easy it was to separate the coin signals out of all the trash. I'm already loven this coil and I can see why all the coins are left behind in the trashy areas. The bigest thing that I discovered about this coil is the coin is at 1/2 of what the depth guage says. Working the X5 coil along with the X1 Probe made for very small plugs.and fast retrieval. Bart has once again provided excellent service and he will continue to get all of my furture business. The X5 coil is well worth price. HH everyone Jeff63
I experience the same depth readings with mine. Just used to it I guess. One thing with these coils is pinpointing is dead on isn't it? Makes for easy recovery and small plugs or screwdriver poppin!
Your absolutely dead on about pin pointing and only need a screw driver. It was actually fun using this coil along with the X1 probe.Oh! and the Trashy Park pattern
