Small Coil for the CTX.... Advantages?

I am new to the CTX.... Received mine at Christmas. I have the opportunity to get a small coil for $200, how advantages is it to have this smaller coil? Would you recommend it from your experience? Thanks.... River

Hiya...

The small 6" coil for the CTX was discussed in this thread:
http://www.findmall.com/read.php?86,1846754

But, to answer your Q: it's all about target separation in the ground when a [good target] is laying in amongst one or more [junk targets] and the good / clean portion of the Audio Signal Return can be either clipped, choppy, blanked and muted with a larger coil as the large coil will [see too much] of the ground signal and not the proportionaly smaler signal of the target?
So small coils can help both un-mask AND isolate a good target in amongst junk and spurious debris.

Des D.... I am fairly new on this forum, so Thanks for the feedback and the redirection. I went and looked at the other thread too, quite helpful.
