Tried this coil on my pioneer 202 today at a tot lot play area. Tried different modes. Was wondering what is the best set up with this coil so I can get closw to the slides, etc.
THANKS

It's going to depend on the situation where you want to try getting close to those kind of things. I'd just go there and toss down a coin nearby and try to detect it. Pretty quick you'll see for yourself how close you can get. There's no magic settings, mainly a smaller coil will have a reduced circle of sensitivity around it and be able to get nearer to nusiance signals.

Myself, I run the 4" coil freehand like a scrub brush, and set the detector beside me to view the display or meter and operate it. I sit myself on the ground and scan around. Works great under the chin up bars. No bending over or getting up and down over and over.

It's not as deep for the same reason that the sensitive area is not as wide as with a larger coil.

Ed, it is good to see you back posting again. You have been MIA for a few months. This forum needs you and you experience with the BH machines :)

I love using my 4" coil. I dont recall having to set up any different than normal. Just take your time and experiment a little. You'll soon find works best for you, your detector and your hunting conditions. Its a great coil and it wont let you down. HH. Matt
