Slow weekend...

But I did manage to find my 3rd Kennedy half-dollar. A 1971 in very good shape. This also happens to be my best find to date with my 5.3 coil. It gave me a steady 89 VDI and locked on $.50. About 5"down. On a side note, I had put in a long hunt at a park previous to this hunt and was told, as I was preparing to leave, that a diamond earring had been lost recently in an area I had just searched. I didn't have it in me to search it again so I'll be going back soon to see if I can rescue it.

That's a good find for a slow weekend. The VDI for $.50 is usually a pair of quarters for me. Nice find!!

I hear you Hank. My machine will read $.50 with 2 quarters also but it will want to drift between that and $.25. This was a first for me to lock on solidly at that range. BTW how does that 10x12 S.E.F. work for you ? I'm thinking of getting one soon for larger areas. Have you used it on salt-water beaches & how well does it deal w/ mineralization or trash ? Thanks.

Great find and hope you can find the earring sometime soon. Isn't it great how the MXT knows how to make change! HH, Nancy
