Slow Night In The Lane, But a Little Silver

I hit the surf lane this morning with the Excal from about 12:15 to 3:15 for the 1:30 low tide. I was swinging maybe 5 minutes when the first target popped...the heavy silver turtle ring. After that is was pretty slow, not many targets being left by the many hunters hitting it now.

Ran into David from Suffolk and we talked a little. He said Normdiver was up the beach coming my way. I think I saw him (and son?) but I was in the water recovering a target and they were on the move so we waved. Hi guys!

Here's my meager nut for the night...

You were busy doing a recovery so me and Robrcer went around you last nite. Just clad for us and a brass charm. May try again tonite.

Well today should be a good beach day so I would be hopeful that tonight may be good. The last decent Saturday we had where I decided not to go out there were like 3 diamond rings found so I think I may have to have another go at it tonight as well. I want to get a gold streak going!

Sounds good...shall we time our arrival at around midnight and do like a 12 to 4 hunt? I could meet you at your buddy's house a few minutes til 12 and we can be at the hunt site by 12? Sound good?

I don't think it really matters too much. The stuff moves around all the time and people are in the water up and down the beach throughout the day. I like the area from about 5th to maybe 30th with the emphasis being on about 8th to 18th or so. I rarely go north of 25th or so and usually don't go all the way down to the loop. But the hot spots are rarely the same. Once the 4th of July weekend is here it will pretty much be a sure thing wherever you pick to hunt as far as I'm concerned. I have a couple of 5 ring and even a 7 ring night last summer, as did a few others. I can't wait for another one of them. :)

I'm not expecting much for a few more weeks but you can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket, so I'll be out there. Good luck!
