Slow here weather and work.

Ron, I've been able to get out a few times but looks like detecting will be put on hold for a few day's. Raining real hard right now and we could get 8 inches of snow in the next couple of day's. At least the ground will have good moisture for easy digging and good depth when it's over.
Good luck Gary

Rain and cold here also.the weather on the computer said 50 degrees my thermometer never got above 40.HH Ron

Ron 71* here now and no wind that is rare this time of year but Tomorrow back to 50* and rain , yea the forum is slow , my 14 year old Chevy Tahoe 5.7 LT finally bite the dust 162,000 miles and i aint puttin no more money into it just about everything in it is new this time the distributor went ,time to look for something smaller better on gas hopefully soon i got my buddy Joe out here to drive me to hunts hes like me gotta get out and swing the coil lol . Weather in Tasmania is superb at this time of year, still in shorts and tee shirt. Unfortunately there are so many other things demanding my attention it is difficult the find time to swing the Sov.
Got out Easter Sunday for a couple of hours. Found a dozen or so coins including a 1924 penny, 1914 halfpenny and strangest of all a 1978 USA Nickel. It was a long way from home.
Low tide at 5.30 this afternoon. Might try for it

Cheers from down-under

Pete

80 degrees here today, was able to get over to the ocean for a quick hunt. coins only, everyone of them super deep. first real day of sunburn:detecting:

Our weather turned lousy but that 's OK...I've got a monster head cold:thumbdown:

Jim,cold rain here,LOL my 1989 F250 has about 50 thousand mile and is rough muffler and tail pipe chained on sounds like the African Queen.Use this truck because its got a goose neck hitch welded on to pull my horse trailer. The truck is beat up but keeps running kind of like a truck zombie.Oh by the way why only 50 thousand you have to be an oil sheik to afford gas for this truck.HH Ron

Ron, been able to get out with some halfway decent weather (30's or 40's) over last week or two. Last time out it was 40's or 50's but a very brisk wind, but managed 4 silvers. Yesterday was very nice but ran errands on a waterproof Sovereign project I'm working on. Today was even nicer but got the call to come into work. If I didn't have to work I would have been out hunting for sure today, but I enjoy what I do so much that I wake up hoping the call comes in and so was very glad it did. Still in training so not getting many hours yet, but it'll come God willing as I learn more...

Critter, work is a priority,I'm working on a wind turbine not sure if its going to be worth the effort.Hopefully the weather will be good enough to get out for a search in the park.Good Luck HH Ron

Got out today for w as ter hunt. Boys wdre not happy. 50 degree water is no good...even with 5 mm suit.

John, maybe a couple of Coors will help the head cold.HH Ron

Better yet...How's about some smooth whiskey and a nice cigar.

Ron, wind turbine, eh? Cool. Post some pics sometime, I'd like to see how that puppy is rigged up. Using a car alternator as your electrical generator? Trolling motor batteries as the storage batteries? You don't want to use car batteries as they are not designed to be drawn near dead often, where a trolling motor battery is meant to handle that. Be careful of "deep cycle" batteries sold for boats. Not all of them are really meant to be "deep cycled" if I remember right. It's a trick of words in the boating industry where it can mean "meant to be drawn near dead like a trolling motor battery", or just used to associate with boating while not being anything different than a car battery. Draining one of those low often will destroy it fast.

Replaced the low capacity/junk Sub-C nicads in my solar security motion light in the yard with a higher capacity pack I soldered together about 4 years ago or so. Still running strong and not going dead quick like the stock pack did. I used high capacity nicad cells meant for the RC car field that are meant to hold up to thousands of cycles. So far so good on those. Now I have to look at the cheap cells in my garden solar lights. Won't stay lit all night so I'll yoke those apart and see what's up there.

Ron When you get to be Old (Like Me) your week will consist of 6 Saturdays and 1 Sunday. I tell my wife that I will take care of those "Honey Do's" on Saturday but I never specify which "Saturday". Actually once you are retired you will be so busy that you will wonder how you ever had time to work. I am headed down to Georgia again this weekend and plan on seeing what some grass strips between the street and sidewalks might yield. Found a 54 rosie and 7 wheaties last trip. Hope your weather improves soon. HH George
