sling for heavy coils, detectors

slingshot

First off, I apologize-I'm much handsomer than the pictures indicate=faulty camera. For those my age-this is pretty nice and is my version from another forum. I use the thicker bungee because it can wrap around the handle and is soft enough not to scratch the finish. The only fault is that you have to maintain a slight tension when bending over or the strap will fall off your shoulder-a little mod will go a long ways here. I could have used my Silver umax for a model, but it kinda blended in and hard to see.

Excellent..I just bought a three speed bike( for ten dollars), and it it is awkward to try and ride holding a detector.. Thinking that I'll make some sort of a rifle type sling..Reminds me of the Viet Cong on bikes, except I'll be the Tesoro Kong.....See what you do when you don't have your second cup of coffee???????? Cordially Nad

Hey Nad! Funny you should post. Just rode my bike to my favorite tot lot and found some coins-BUT- I also found a GREAT socket from a ratchet set and a wrench on the road riding there. You gave me an idea-I've been riding for years and I'm going to get together all the stuff I've found on the side of the road on my bike. I won't be able to post the $100 bill, as I've already spent it. I use the Tesoro bag that came with my Silver umax-thanks to a great dealer-and carry my Silver broken down in it.

You GOT a bag with your Silver???????????????????????. From a dealer?????????????????????..I DIDN'T...............I paid $162, and change,, "new"...................Maybe, that's the reason for not getting a bag, or a reply on my EBay feedback??????????? Seriously, Break it down,,,,do you pull the connector? Build a sling, how would you fasten it to the detector???? Don't want to be like Jabo, and go hunting across a field and find out I lost my detector. Not having the detector means that you don;t have your detector to find your detector???? Did you follow that reasoning? If you did, stop over, we both need another coffee with a bit of Kickapoo juice in it ,The latter goes in after the brewing (Safety reasons.).....,, Cordially Nad

Here's the whole story. I had a Silver Sabre umax. After using it for a month, the thing went haywire. We sent it to Tesoro 3-yes 3!-(give me some of that Kickapoo juice!) times and they said that nothing!!!! was wrong with it. My dealer was paying for sending it to the plant and finally became disgusted and offered my money back. BUT I spotted that Silver and it looked so pretty and I asked about it and he said he would trade and give me the difference in cash $25. I told him no that after all he'd done I considered it square. That's when he threw in a bag AND face cover. Wish he were still a dealer

Thanks for the idea. Just made one for my XLT from a rifle sling I had laying around. Saw the doctor the other day. Thought I had tennis elbow but he said "metal detectoritis elbow" and gave me some exercises to do for it and to use my left hand (NOT!!!!!) and to lay off detecting so much. NO WAY. With your idea I can continue what I love doing. Thanks Sonny
