Went out Wednesday and Saturday and found some pretty toxic coins. The mineralization ate them bad, most have no dates. Check out the last Wheaty (looks like a zincette). Did get a decent 1909 cent (don't ask - no S VDB). A colonial coin with no image visible. My buddies found Wheats, Indians and a 1897 Barber Quarter and a gorgeous 1888 Canadian Dime. Lots of fun, but not a lot of keepers for me. Acid rain is killing our coins. HH everyone!

WOW usually the wheaties will hold up better, too bad for you. I have heard that heavy fertilizer will do that as well as coins found under pine trees. Still got some nice ones though I see a couple silver WTG:thumbup:

coinnut, you still had a good day! i spent a little over 2 hours today and just got a memorial cent and a nice flatbutton. i think your're right about the acid rain - that and fertilizers from the past - that are really corroding our coins we find. that's just one more reason to get out there and dig 'em up! good job, coinnut. hh,

Slim Pickins, Listen to this man  I would take those Slim Pickins anyday .
Seriously , I have been finding some really nasty wheats and the last LC too. Fertilizers
in our area are killing the copper . You found really Nice relics too,Really Nice .
