Slim Pickins'

Went out the other day and had little luck. Got a corroded Draped Bust large cent, part of a colonial shoe buckle, a musket ball, an ox knob, and two buttons (decorated flat, and a Tombac). The condition of the copper around there is BADDDDDD. Managed to get enough detail to tell it's a Draped Bust, but no date. Going out Saturday to find that trunk load of gold. HH

If thats slim pickins, I have to see your post for a good hunt!!!!

Around here, we have a long history, from pre colonial, right through modern times. Not nearly like the U.K. has, but more than most. I usually find more coins and buttons. Usually 5 or 6 buttons at least. These are long hunts 6 - 8 straight swinging. I had to really work on that large cent to get any image to appear. Between hydrogen peroxide, sulphur and sandpaper, I got something identifiable at least. HH
