Slim pickings, but nice gold!

More rain again today, but rather than sit at home on my day off I headed down to lovely Kiama for more beach hunting. It was chilly & windy and what's more I got wet! Finding my first decent 14k gold ring made up for the wet clothes:wiggle: I found this along with some coins at the entrance to a tiny sea cave.

Then I changed to my new sniper coil and hit a tot lot - very impressed with the new coil I must say.

Total cash haul was $16.10, which included five sweet $2 coins! Also scored a cool skull ring in the grassy dunes.

If the weather holds tonite I'll be hitting Wollongong beaches for a look-see.

Nice ring find and some clad too boot..

Congrats on the ring werewolf.
I hunted Kiama beach with my Ace the Easter before last. i think I only found 2 coins. Pleasant hunt though. It looks like you fared better than I did.
Mick Evans.

Mick - yes Kiama's main beach was dead. Think I scored $3.00 there. But just around the corner is another secluded beach which coughed up the rings and some of the aged clad.

Nice part of the world. Think I'll head further south next week to try my luck.

Man I hate those hunts with slim pickings. Only 16 bucks and only one gold ring?

It is many weeks or months between hunts that are that good for me! Nice stuff.

Chris

How much does the ring weigh?

Wow, That is a cool chunk of gold. Keep it up!

Yep Mick - Kendall's Beach.

Ring weighs in at 9 grams. Very solid, great quality, made in Turkey I believe.

Be nice to find one of those every week!

If that is slim pickins then I would hate to see a good day. hehe Congrats nice ring

Great finds! Here in Northern TN it takes over 12 hr to get to the nearest beach. You either cross the Appalachian mt. into NC, or you go straight south.
