Slight Wetness On Battery Connection

I noticed on my last two outings some water droplets under the plastic collar connection and some moisture on the rubber gasket of the battery. Is this something I should be concerned about? My last two outings have been in the rough surf. The unit operates fine.

Put some silicone grease on the threads and that should help. Not much. Silicone Grease can be found in the plumbing department at Home Depot or Lowe's. HH :minelab:

mine does the same thing....i was also wondering same question... mine also operates ok even though there is water getting on battery terminals.....one thing you may want to check from time to time....i noticed that because moisture gets between the rubber seal and battery my battery got slightly corroded and gummed up on the inside terminals of the battery....this problem was easily taken care of by gently ,gingerly scraping the female battery terminals..i noticed a difference after cleaning....

I had my battery pod crack between the connectors and to the side when the detector went under water I lost my threshold totally
silent, when It was out of the water in 5 seconds it was fine, a new battery pod solved my problem.
