Skull Crucifix

Treasure Mike

New member
Found the crucifix with skulls at this huge sports complex today. It was down about an inch in the turf and registered at 16 on the VDI meter. It is not marked and I think it is chrome plated. It is nothing really special I just thought it was an unusual find that might be of some interest. Thanks for looking! Mike

Nice find. Very unusual.

You can say that again. "Unusual", but interesting. Looks like a great place to hunt. Thanks for sharing!

Could be off a bike, on the back of the brace for the seat.

Its the Gothic style. You know the kids in black with lip, nose, eyelid, and nipple jewelery. HH Dennis in Idaho

Very Cool. I would like to find one of those.

Like Dang said, though, it's merely a stylized cross - a crucifix represents Jesus crucified on the cross. The crucifix is a Catholic icon and serves to remind us at just what price our salvation comes down to.

Incidentally, skulls and crosses have been iconic partners for millenia now. The early Christians had few illusions about death, as it was more a part of their existence than ours. At one time, to be a follower of Christ was to carry a death warrant on your head.

Most of the oldest christian catacombs known contain such iconic reminders as crosses, depictions of Christ and martyrs and of course, skulls.
