Unlike some who seem to have better luck behind the keyboard...I actually work hard researching, detecting, & making finds.
I was lucky to have picked a perfect day off to meet with Mike from Outdoor Outfitters yesterday. Weather in the 60's. Nice :)
He was on his way by for a hunt in CT. then flying right down to the "unvailing" in El Paso......yep, THAT unvailing :) The red sheet comes off
Tuesday morning at First Texas...
Anyhow, back to digging. I decided to take MIke to one of our best holes ever. Site of the infamous ID-Excel rough proto trials with Fisher's engineer (yea, same guy didn't think I was "inside" FRL either)
How about a re-visit with the supercharged T2, which being 2x the price is alot more powerful than the Excel was there......
We cross a stream & walk up on this nice foundation...again stone pile was the chimney....

MIke from Wisconsin was very impressed & excited to be hunting a true New England Colonial homesite. IT's really a great plot all around.
Here he digs a signal behind one of the 2 barn foundations....

MIke was doing really well with the T2 on early buttons. Here's a shot of a large 1700's tomback coat button (GW size...but a blank) :(
Hey lookie here.....Mike also seems to have found a super mega rare, "unlisted" Texas Buttin!

YeeeeeHAAAAA! Give that man a dancin' chicken! :) (One for the books!)
Moving on.......
Yea, I did dig a few things too. MIke really wanted a Colonial copper bad, like most folks I take out from other states do.
Well, on this day I was the lucky finder of a coin near the barn entrance....
Here's an 1864 2 cent piece as it came outta the ground (looks like small motto type too)!

Also while I was digging out iron inside what would have been a barn...up pops this circa 1870 medicine bottle :surprised:
Sweet! a rare varient :D It's say's "Blanding, Providence" down the sides. Love the wavey glass....

We had a pretty good day for a site that we'd hunted once before. Lots of colonial buttons turned up, I dug a broken crotal bell :(. Mike also bagged the nicely decorated rosette on the right of this finds picture. This is most all of our goodies,,,

thanks for looking,
Bill

Looks like a fun day with some good finds. Course you got my attention with the "unveiling" statement

Thanks for the pictures!
