Ski Resorts

Hi I was wondering about something maybe someone has done this before. I have a nice ski resort near me and I MD it alot in the summer. Has anyone tried doing it after they close for the season but still alot of snow. Seems like it would be hard packed and easy to walk on. Anyone tried this??

John might jump in on this one. I've hunted them after the season but never right after. The snow here gets mighty deep.

Bill

Bill isn't the snow packed for the skiers? I guess I'll go up there and check. Although I don't know when I'll have the time as there so many other spots here. Too little time so much to do.

Quick question on the subject. Do your ski resorts charge to go in after they close. I have heard some are starting to do a permit with fee to metal det. people because they find good stuff and want to be sure and get their share, some people? Some are forest land and once they close the leas is up til next year so you fall into the forest service rules. Just curious, sounds good to hunt.

Hi most of are ski areas in Colorado are on leases, so as soon as they close its OK to do whatever you want. They are one of my favorite and most productive places to detect.

George,

Are there any certain areas you hunt at the ski resorts?

Kenny

Hi Kenny I start at the bottom as soon as the snow starts receding and work my way up the slope going totally across the whole run. Last year my best find was a gold coin on a golden necklace. It's a good way to spend as many days as I have and I always find good stuff and I have the whole place to myself. Good luck George
