I'd imagined finding about ten times more than this, but since I stopped imagining and really doing it, I've learned that there's more "competition" than I thought, plus, I've learned new strategies to find the elusive silver coins...more to come.
The first two coins on the top left (Merc & war nickel) were found outside my kitchen window, side by side, with my first detector ($15 used famous trails MD1020).
The next Merc was found at a park, and had a steel penny rusted to it.
The next war nickel was found in a coin spill with a bunch of wheaties included.
The Barber quarter with the bullet hole was found at 3600' in the Cascades (Wa)
The most recent AND exciting find was the two Washington quarters and three Rosies (along with a bunch of wheaties) found in a single spill. This was only days after finding the silver tiger eye ring and a 1904 V nickel, ALL IN THE SAME PARK!
Totaled around $100 in corroded clad coins.
This might be what a noob addict would expect to find in Wa. while detecting at every opportunity for 6mo. with a modded Cibola.
............Still no gold......my day will come!
