Decided to enjoy a nice fall day and went to a location that my hunting friend and I pound. There was 3 or 4 houses close together, but now it's a farm field. I was in luck, as the farmer had pushed the weeds out along the edge of the field and leveled some dirt piles. We were just there Friday, but now had an additional strip cleared about 12 x 300 feet, to check out. The hunt turned out way better than expected. The first coin was the 1893 V nickel, next coin was a 1916 merc........but no D.....had my heart racing though. Pulled a couple of Wheaties, two nickels, and then the 1936 Walking Liberty half. That is the second Walking half with this 6" coil. Also had some buttons, what had been a nice swirl glass marble, but it's really beat up, still cool though. And of course some misc stuff...........I'm really liking this coil, it gets in between the trash really well. This area has a large amount of can slaw and nails from the old homes that were here, so the small coil is really nice....I would really like to see Minelab come out with a half size version of their 17" coil...I haven't used the standard coil much since going to this 6". The areas I hunt are extremely loaded with junk.....before I forget to add, I was using P2 open, except the top right having a 2x2 area disc.ed out, as well as the bottom 35 line. Was using combined tones with 41 up, at 1050 and nickels 10-14 at 500. Manual sens at 28, it was running pretty good, and gain at 24, Fast on and Deep off, and Ferrous-Coin....I'm getting anxious for the crops to come out, so I can give the 17" monster a go, at an old fairground.........HH
