Sitting on the fence. Choices ?

I'm debating on getting a new detector in the Teknetic line either The T2 or Omega 8000
I,m leaning on the Omega as wife is interested in joining me.
Less technical maybe?
Which one would you people suggest any and all info and comments are welcomed.
I have in the past used a Bounty hunter detector the Disc 3300 when I first started.
I'm mostly a coin and jewelry detector.

I hunt up in Minnesota several times a year in the Park Rapids area and find that ground seems to have a little more iron minerals then does my ground down here in Tn. I haven't had the T 2 for a couple of years, but as I recall I got more falsing with it then I do with the Omega. The Omega is not quite as deep, but if you do mainly coin shooting, the Omega is one sweat detector and also gives a much more accurate target id. The T 2 really is easy to learn, but the Omega is just about a turn on and go detector. Both are great detectors, but for day in and day out coin hunting, the Omega is tough to beat. Good luck! The Teknetics Omega would be the unit I got in March of 2010 and I liked it a bit better than the T2 I already had, and ended up using it much more. Much more than ANY Teknetics models, and I've had all but the Alpha. I have also used all of the 'Greek' series coils on the Omega, first acquiring nit with the 3-coil package, and if I only had the stock 10" elliptical concentric coil ([size=small]5

I agree with Monte and Jim. The Teknetics Omega 8000 is one fine coin shooter! The addition of the 5" DD is an awesome setup! Really locks on to coins well. Does well on small jewelery too.

Holler if you need more info or great pricing on either. I can make you a great deal! Thanks, Bart.

I'm not in the same league of expertise as either Jim TN, or Monte...... So let their recommendations weigh heavy on your choice.

As you know my favorite grab and go has always been the T2........ So at least look it over if possible while making your decision..

It too is an excellent choice for all around detecting with superior depth capabilities..

How is The 8000 on Low conductor's such as small jewelry

I've dug quite a few nickels with the Omega, and they're a pretty low conductor, similar to gold jewelry. If I could have only one detector it would be the Omega. It's plenty deep.
