Sittin' next to the "sandpit" in 60 degree JANUARY weather:thumbup:

50/50 split today as I spent the morning hunting... and the afternoon on the Harley:clapping:

This was a RARE day today with a few hours of free-time because I didn't have any personal training appointments at the gym until 4:30...and I made the most of it in this crazy 60 degree IL weather.

This little 1876 lady came from an area I call the sandpit...actually right on the outer edge where the first 4 inches or so is a deep, rich topsoil...then it turns to sand....as you can see.

I had to rush to get to the gym for a 4:30...5:30...then 7:30 appointment this evening...and it's right back up at 6:30 to open said gym in the morning.

In other words...I'm tired:bouncy:...so this post is short and sweet.

At least this lady has a ledgible date of 1876. The one I got a couple of weeks ago was an 1880's...somethin'...but I couldn't make out the final number:rolleyes:

My buddy Herky enjoyed the incredible January temps as well.:clapping:

In as long as I can remember...I don't EVER recall being able to hunt in any year...in January...where the ground was COMPLETELY UNFROZEN at a site:thumbup:. Simply amazing to have the Lesche easily penetrate soft, moist soil.:clapping:

DITTO

Congrats on your 1876 Seated Dime

I have only found one seated(during my first year of detecting, I did not know what it was)and it is also a 1876 Dime

Herc would be happy any way any how as long as he was with you

Nice find Bryce................ Been a nice January for sure..Now if February can stay that way..were almost into spring time...

Sweet find :beers: Hope you can squeak in a few more fair weather hunts this winter, if that's what you want to call it.

Once again another nice one. Ground still frozen here but the temps are good in the 40's. Do you take Herk on the Harley too sometimes maybe slowly around the yard. Wait I think I saw a side cart pic once with him in it didn't I??

Nice to be able to get out and enjoy your 2 favorite hobbies in the same day no matter what time of year.

I want a sandpit :sadwalk: excellent find bryce keep up the good work

HH,

Tom

Seated is alwaya a pleasant surprise................WTG.............:super:

More silver frm the sandpit, why doesn't that surprise me. Nice dime buddy!

Bryce IL I never found a seated coin with my xterra but did find a few barbers. I hope to pick up things from hunters here so I will probably pester you most of all...lol. I hope thats okay with you. Nice seated coin by the way. Your dog looks very happy in the field too.

I've always followed your posts and that sand pit as you call it has been a great little spot for you. Nice old seated dime and good luck pulling more keepers from there. New coils can always help pop another old one or 2 from a worked spot:)

That's a sharp old lady bud...nice rescue.
Give Herk a little pat on the snoot for me.
