50/50 split today as I spent the morning hunting... and the afternoon on the Harley
This was a RARE day today with a few hours of free-time because I didn't have any personal training appointments at the gym until 4:30...and I made the most of it in this crazy 60 degree IL weather.
This little 1876 lady came from an area I call the sandpit...actually right on the outer edge where the first 4 inches or so is a deep, rich topsoil...then it turns to sand....as you can see.

I had to rush to get to the gym for a 4:30...5:30...then 7:30 appointment this evening...and it's right back up at 6:30 to open said gym in the morning.
In other words...I'm tired...so this post is short and sweet.
At least this lady has a ledgible date of 1876. The one I got a couple of weeks ago was an 1880's...somethin'...but I couldn't make out the final number

My buddy Herky enjoyed the incredible January temps as well.

In as long as I can remember...I don't EVER recall being able to hunt in any year...in January...where the ground was COMPLETELY UNFROZEN at a site. Simply amazing to have the Lesche easily penetrate soft, moist soil.
