Site question

Hey I'm fairly new to this relic hunting. I live in VA in Lebanon close to Abingdon, Bristol, Rogersville, Saltville area. I am not very good and finding this research stuff. I have one GREAT NEW friend that was kind enough to take me to a spot to find my first two pullets. That be thanks to SCOTT! Thanks a million, ol buddy. I tell ya what one hunting trip together so far and a blast of life time memories, with many more to come. My question is can anyone else help point me in the right direction to a skirmish or campsite or battle or something where I might find some more relics. I'm not asking for anybodies particular spot, but if someone has any ideas or can offer some research in my area that would be great! I know it is a long shot but I just have to ask.

huntn_relics, there is a treasure tale about Saltville during the civil war and some treasure. You might be able to find the story at www.losttreasure.com. If you are a relic hunter then you will need to get the CD "The War Of The Rebellion". You can google the CD. The CD cover the 127 volumns of the Offical Records (130,000 pages of information on the civil war). Its about $70.00 and worth every cent. Another good place for information is to google "civil war diaries" there is a lot of good information in them, especially if they talk about your area. Google anything to do with the civil war. The key to finding good places to hunt is research, research, research. Good luck.

Thanks Dick for the information. You gave me some stuff I did not have or know. I can find the names of the place where I live but that is about it. Pretty broad having trouble pinning it down.

Thanks a bunch

I live in Piney Flats TN and have hunted with Scott a few times, fine feller, he put me on my first bullets, 69 cal roundballs. Can't help ya much with the research but I know ya will learn alot from Scott, who knows maybe we all might hook up sometime for a hunt, been a while since I hunted with him. Good luck on the research and happy hunting... Jim
