I know that not all items by Singer Manufacturing Company were sewing machines.
But what I do not know is what this item might be.

This is from a treadle sewing machine cabinet. That item would be the plate on the cabinet drawer's where the handle pull goes through.

Isn't it a shame that modern woodworking and cabinetry is not so eloquent in design as it used to be.
Am I guessing right that this would have been from somewhere in the 1890's to have this design?

1890s seems about right. I do love the old craftsmanship and style of furniture back then.
