I've gone back to digging ALL targets. What a workout. I got a little spoiled after I got the Excal sound for gold tuned in my head. I figured a couple of weeks ago that I was possibly missing some good targets. That and I have not pulled a gold chain yet or Plat, which i understand will both sound more like a trash target rather than a good, clean sound. So I am back to pocket fulls of trash. I did however pull out the gold and small woman's diamond band today and never really heard it because of all the nails and other iron trash. Always nice to see the gold come shining through as the sand disappears out of the scoop.

Very Nice finds !
I to have gone back to digging anything repeatable.
I almost passed up a nice heavy silver bracelet thinking it was trash.
Congrats on the finds!

Nice finds southernstyle. They are great machines but I think if you rely on things sounding off the same every time, you'll be missing a lot of good stuff. I did the same thing with a gold bracelet. I was sure it was another gum wrapper.

me tooooooooooo you can get a bit lazy after a 6-8 hour day when your arms are falling off :sleepy: ! I hit a low toned target and walked away thinking oh damn its only a yogut pot top or foil :wiggle:??
but something made me return to dig it and it turned out to be a 9k signet ring ! :clapping:I then had another ring a few minutes later !!
Then for days I wondered how many other good targets had I walked away from ??? :surprised: Now I dig the good bad and the ugly :crylol:
happy hunting Tony Weston:ukflag:

I don't usually dig the nulls, but if I am getting a lot of nulling in high traffic areas, I will start digging just to see if there are good targets hiding deeper. Then again it always depends on how I feel and how much time I have to dig. Cherry picking the hot spots can pay off just the same sometimes.

I dig the nulls as most of our coins in Canada have iron in them, dimes are really bad for nulls.
