Since Fisher was acquired by First Texas in 2006, what are the latest features of the CZ-21?

Hello Fellow Fisher Lovers-

I am a die-hard Fisher user having owned the CZ-6a, ID-Edge, Coinstrike, and my favorite of all machines, the F-75, which here in Virginia, I exclusively use use for relic hunting, and is the only detector I currenlty own. My question, I have been thinking for a year or two about purchasing a waterproof detector such as the CZ-21, for creeks/streams and possibly hit the beach once a year or tow... My question; what are the latest technological developments/changes for the CZ-21 since First Texas acquired Fisher in 2006.

I would like to believe during the course of almost 5 years since acquiring Fisher, that there would be some major changes/enhancements. Can any one out there enlighten me as to what those enhancements might be? Thanks

Wayne

Wayne,

I don't think there were any 'major' changes that enhanced the depth or sensitivity compared to the CZ20. I think the main differences are the pin point button, which is now more durable and works differently than the original, and the face of the unit.

JC-

Thanks for your response. I'm still considering getting this unit maybe in the spring, but would be more enticed,, if I knew that the technology in the CZ-21 was comparable/latest to other similar units on the market....

Wane. The only other units would be the Excal. The 21 has a sealed battery compartment. New more durable PP button. Revised face. It's one heck of a machine.

Agree with JC and EZrider. The changes were to make it more rugged and supportable. CZ is one heck of a water and beach detector. With the work done to prolong it's life, I would think First Texas took a good hard look at the potential benefits of an entirely new, non-CZ design, and they came back to the CZ.

I've only owned Fisher's and have nothing but positive things to say re. quality/workmanship, and more importanty, PERFORMANCE in the filed. However I have been unable to see any new literature from Fisher Labs, with respect to what has been done to enhance the unit since First Texas acquired Fisher in 2006. Your e-mail is encouraging, as it seems that new technology et al has been to the unit since 2006. Thanks

Best-

Thanks EZrider-

I will be buying one within the next 90 days...

Honestly not into water hunting due to health issues but its where the rings are..If not mistaken CZ21 came out before Fisher was sold and basically had a more durable pinpoint button. As far as I know no changes made by the new Fisher just continued the current line..Seems to me the best improvement that could be made is having a salt and regular mode whether internally or externally to accomodate fresh and saltwater hunters...Certainly one of the best along with Excalibur...

cz20 and cz21 are the same internally!!!

cz21 came out after fisher was acquired by firsttexas!

first cz21s retained the led indicators.

pinpoint button and led indicators were removed or replaced due to many failures at these points.

failures/leaks were occurring well before firsttexas acquisition and warranty repairs were "eating fisher alive"
chuck.
