Simplex+ is simply excellent

Received my simplex on Friday, got to hunt briefly with it on Saturday. This machine is so intuitive I haven't even picked up the manual yet.
Headphones are good, easy to pair to the detector.
The user interface is well thought out, except for the pinpoint button, almost turned off my detector more than once, due to it being off-centre .
My buddy got his the same day and he hit something small and deep but after 12" of heavy digging gave up on it , as it was too rocky and sticky clay on everything
Light to swing, not nose heavy and really seperates well in iron, small coil will make this machine lethal.

Welcome to the Findmall Forums ... Welcome to the Nokta / Makro Forums on Findmall ... and Welcome to the Simplex +

I am anything but new to metal detectors and metal detecting and I've found the Simplex + so impressive it's almost hard to describe. I've been thin gout a lot of units in my Detector Outfit and just decided to trim even more of them out. My most trusted units are going to be available as needed, but the Simplex + is now my 'regular-carry' detector that I'll keep in my vehicle in all my travels .... daily. Quite a performer, and as you mentioned, once a smaller coil or two are added, it will be 'lethal' for so many applications.

Very cold temps and high winds are due the next couple of says with a little snow, but the weekend is supposed to get into the 45° to almost 50° range and be mostly sunny! I'm ready for it and hope to get the Simplex + back out at least a couple more times before the year ends. I hope you're in a more favorable weather location to enjoy using yours through the winter.

Yes sir, I have followed your posts for years, you know metal detecting. I got started in 2007 with a bounty hunter tracker 4, analog fun on a budget.
I then spent thousands over the next decade buying whites, and teknetics machines til my wife said I had a problem, lol.always chasing the next best detector
This simplex put the joy back into detecting again, it is easily as deep than my stock T2 , and alot easier to use. It is also with me in my work truck , as it's ease of transport is really nifty. When it collapses down it's a detector fit for a Dorf does golf video- love it!
Home run nokta/mackro team!!!!

It is a really 'fun' detector to use, without a doubt. I have an assortment of detectors, and my primary-use units all qualify as being "fun to use" but that's because they work so well and handle the conditions well where they are put to work. All that I use are 'fun,' but the Simplex + has a bit of an 'edge' on them due to the excellent packaging, the nice balance and feel, combined with features and in-the-field performance.

The 'fun' hasn't really been gone, for me anyway, but there's something about the Simplex + that does add an extra spark.

Just used my Simplex in the lake this cold morning, and the detector and the new wired waterproof headphones worked great
Area had been picked over by a detecting club over the weekend but I still managed .41 in an hour. Hit on all targets and I always scoop all targets until I know my machine. Pretty much just pointed to coins. I'm a turn on and go guy, so the Simplex pleases me. Really for the price it's versatile and accurate.

I have had the Simplex+ for about a week now and it has really stunned me how well it picks good targets out of iron infested spots, even with the 11" coil it zero's in on the non-ferrous target easily. I don't know how Mak/Nok made this detector so inexpensive, it unmasks great and with all it's features I am just amazed. The build quality is great, I don't have to worry about getting it wet, Low light conditions are not a problem, even the buttons light up. It's simple to use and finds the goods for not very much money. Hooray for Mak/Nok :clapping: This detector is a winner!

And you're right about the display backlight. About the best I have ever used. I pushed daylight the other day when it stayed ± 40° and was getting dark and I changed to the 'A' automatic 'On' with target detection. It really helps. I am looking ahead to the otter summer weather when I often search the high-desert ghost town very early and very late, then on into the night when the days get too hot. I've been 'night-hunting' old sites for forty years and I know a lower setting of '1' or '2' bars should work out just about right for me.

Just another one of the nice features Nokta / Makro designed into the great-performing value detector.

Best of success to you as you get more hunt-time in.
