Simple switch guard

Member
For all that have the new Coiltek Pocket Rocket Battery System, a 5 minute switch guard fix. I took a heavy strip of alluminum and bent it to go down the side of the regulator and over the switch. It is held in place with dubble back carpet tape. it gives you full access to the switch, but protects it fully. heres the pictures. Grubstake

Yes plastic would work great. I had the alluminum sheet metal from the top of a radio shack project box, and just used that. I did not want to void my waranty, by removing the nut on the switch, just protect it. And it doe's the job well, dubble back tape holds very good and the Fish hook design was easy to make. It allows your finger to get in and flip the switch on and off. Thanks DOC and Coiltek, its a dandy set up. Grubstake

Your design actually got us thinking along the right lines! Wer looked at it and said, hey, what if we turned that "U" upside down, and put a hole in it so the switch would be proteced.

We appreciate the help as the frustration level over here at COILTEK, both Down Under and Up Above was getting pretty high.

Thanks!
