Simple Rose Flower Pictures.............

Kelley (Texas)

New member
Just testing a vintage Sigma 35-70mm F2.8 lens. I wanted to take these pictures yesterday evening, but I did not like the lighting. As such, I took these pictures early this morning. This lens appears to do OK on flower pictures, but would probably produce better flower pictures if taken by a more experienced and skilled photographer. These pictures were taken in Manual Mode.

This lens produced some great landscape pictures when I tested it out in the field. Kelley (Texas) :)

Those roses are beautiful. I really like the yellow one. I bet they smell good too? Do you grow them or from a bouquet? I've got one rose bush that somehow it won't die and keeps giving some wonderful big blooms.

The yellow Rose is a miniature rose growing in a flower pot, and the pink Rose is growing in a 5 gallon paint bucket. I have never grown Roses before and they do require some work to keep healthy. Kelley (Texas) :)

I've never had any problem with roses for some strange reason. One year a neighbor gave our daughter a rose bush start and he had bought 50 of them. Hers was the only one that lived and it had the biggest blooms. It was a Double Delight. Here's a stock photo of it.[attachment 314152 images2DPF0H1P.jpg] I had forgotten all about that rose till now. Thanks for the memories!

I am not familiar with growing Roses, something new for me. It all started accidently with a rose rescue situation. I now have several that I am growing in flower pots and two in five gallon paint buckets. It is the tiny rose plants about 8 inches tall that I am having problems with growing. All the rain that we had for several weeks has caused two of them to get a grey powder type fungus on them and I am trying to bring them back to good health. The yellow colored Rose is one of the ones affected with this disease. I am fascinated with these miniature Roses and must admit that I am having fun growing and learning about them. They look great on our patio deck, lots of color. Kelley (Texas) :)

The best thing I've done with roses is, leave them alone. Somehow they grow.

I do need to ask a Nursery how to get rid of the grey/black colored fungus or mold, then I will leave them alone. Kelley (Texas) :)
