i am a older fisher fan ..i used a cz6, cz6a , cz5 ,cz7 cz3d ,,,

my ? is , fisher itself were never able to make a dd coil , with there fisher units .....how did the new company come out with a dd coil for the fisher ...is the old way of making the detectors guts gone ? is it just a sheep in wolfs clothing ..cz fan...

CZ's are two frequencies and I have never heard of dd coils being made for them, however, I have heard of dd coils in the past that were made for certain 1200 series, single frenquency detectors. The dd coils are difficult to find. I have read mention of them in the past. I've been a Fisher user ever since I bought the 1260 new many years ago, and wish I saved all of the catalogs I had over the years to refer back to when questions like this come up.

Ralph Sunray talked about why they never developed a Double D coil for the CZ line of detectors, having made widescan coils for other detectors. He said basically the CZ works optimally with coils of Concentric design. It makes sense, if there was a way to make a better coil and make money it would have been done.
