Similar Post...Tejon and Beach Hunting

I use my Tejon mainly for coin hunting in parks and woods with some beach hunting (freshwater). However, I have an upcoming trip to the east coast and would like to know how the Tejon handles on the beaches and salt water. I would be using the stock coil. Would a widescan coil help with depth and chatter? Or should I forget about it and just stick with my Headhunter Diver? Thanks!

You also may have to play with the Ground Balance if hunting wet sand and turn down sensitivity. But in the dry sand it will work great.

You ALWAYS need a back-up. I use my Tejon at the beach mainly in the dry sand but it will work like Scully mentioned in the wet sand. I n wet sand, if you get a signal that repeats dig it...if you get a non repeatable signal...keep walking. I don't wade with the Tejon, I would use the HH Diver for that.
