Hi, I got out for an hour today behind where I live and found a 1903 IH penny in rough shape and then just a few feet away under a low hanging branch from the tree in the pics I found this general service eagle button. I have searched this area before and I have been working it much slower and wouldn't you know the finds are starting to show again. This is the lower part of the road that is on the 1860's maps of my county. Currently I use the 7 in deep search wide scan coil but I am considering trying a 10x12 concentric coil to see what shows up before I consider a switch to another brand in hopes of deeper/better finds. Thanks for looking !

Nice finds! I wouldn't switch brands. I would love to swing my Tesoro Vaquero at that site.

I don't think you need to change brands, but it might be a good addition to add one of the Tesoros with manual ground balance. With a proper ground balance you should be able to reach a bit deeper in your soil or in other areas where mineralization may be higher.

Got to love those old stage coach trails. Always a possibility that something good could turn up.
