i got my silver recently with 9x8 coil
what about the original 8" that comes with the silver?
if you tried both tell me wichone you found better.

actually i was wondering about the silver!
how could you run with all metal without manual ground balance?
and any other tesoro has humm in all metall.

this machine is really quiet and has good disk

The Silver has a preset ground balance-even in all metal. I have the 8" coil and am hoping for the 5.75" coil for Christmas. Some have said they cannot tell much difference in the two coils you mentioned. The ground balance can be "power balanced"-but you could void your warranty if you accidentally break or injure the pot.
