Silver with the Ogema 8000

Hi All, Took the Omega out for a short spin today, as I was able to get away from work early (extra hours tomorrow). Went to a spot where I have detected lots of times before, and usually find a good haul of coins when I go there. But over the years I have found only one silver ring there, and I know there should be more. The soil at this place is quite difficult because there are at least four different types of soil mixed up, layer upon layer, and in some spots mixed up like a marble cake. VID readings can be all over the place, and you really have to listen to the audio signal and allow a bit of latitude when interpreting the visual signal. I had found two coins, one gave a good steady signal, the other gave one of the "all over the shop" signals. Then I got another signal which was a bit "all over the shop", but I was pretty sure it was something good. Took me a while to locate it with my probe and it turned out to be a silver men's bracelet marked "925, Italy". I checked my price catalogues and this one sells for about $140 (AUD), or if on special, about $80.

I was pleased to get a nice piece of jewellery with the Omega. This adds to my confidence in what I already thought is a great machine.
(Sorry I dont have a picture, but my tech. support person (daughter) is away at Uni. and I'm still to accomplish loading up photos...I know it will happen one day).

Thanks for reading this, and HH.

It's good to see you getting out with the Omega Furious. I'm expecting mine to arrive tomorrow.
I image the irregular shape of the braclet may be the reason that the numberswere junmping. Nice find.
Mick Evans.

Hi Mick,
I think you're spot on. With this particular area, some coins give a signal which jumps around, depending on how long they've been there (not just with the Omega, but with my 3 other visual TID machines as well). It was just a great surprise, getting the bracelet.:)

Furious---Congrats on the silver bracelet found in the tough ground you described.---Was the numbers "bouncing" in a certain range (top to bottom)?-------Del

send me a Pm with your thoughts on the Omega if you get time will you please ??

Del, The numbers bounced from about 78 to 76, then in the cross sweep down to 68 to 64. As Mick said, the bracelet, being a bracelet, would be prone to giving that type of response, and he's right. The thing is, I had just found (about a minute before) one of our $2 coins which had given exactly the same response...virtually the same numbers. I think this was partly due to the ground conditions, and it's also possible that the coin was on edge.
I have found many coins in this same area, with different machines, that have shown similar responses to signals, and it took me a while before I cottoned on to the fact that a lot of the signals were coins, not rubbish. After I got my mind into gear, this area has been very good to me, but until the bracelet, almost no jewellery. I will be going back with renewed vigour.

Hi Elton,
I'm flat out like a lizard drinking at the moment, but I will send you a post. If I get a chance this evening I will, if not then tomorrow. Take care.
