Went out in the 100 degree heat. I made a CTX program to ring a high tone on only memorials and up in an effort to keep the number of digs down partly to save me from overheating and mostly to keep the turf neat. Less plugs make less chances of killing grass. Every plug I dug I watered the roots with a big water bottle that I brought along and had to refill a couple times. This park is great to me so I want to keep it looking nice. Once it rains and cools down I will dig more targets.
Using the target trace and target trace pinpoint of the CTX I got a signal with a low grunt every way with a high tone ping from 1 side and only produced the ping from 1 sweep from that side. I looked at the screen and it clearly showed 2 targets one at 35-47 and another at 11-45 to 11-47 both on the smart find. Pinpointed and dug the plug. Out came the iron first. Rescanned and got an 11-46 to 11-47 loud and clear from all sides. Ended up being a 1943 quarter! Hit this exact same spot with my Etrac in conductive and TTF and my ATPro and missed this. I'm starting to have confidence in this ctx3030.
Within the next 30 minutes 2 more turned up. A 1916 Mercury dime, no mint mark, a 1947 Roosevelt. Here's it all. No wheats since they hit a mid tone. This is not my usual setup but worked out well keeping the number to digs down and getting silver out of the ground.
Thanks for looking.
