Silver Weekend!

I just returned from another trip to continue bringing my brother-in-law up to speed on his E-trac. We had a great weekend!

He's still having some trouble hearing stuff even though I kept calling him over before digging a target so he could listen to what I was hearing. He tells me it's from year of working in a garage with air tools. I think he needs a good set of headphones.

Anyway, here are the pictures of my take alone. This doesn't include what he found!!!

Congrats on alot of great finds! Lots of silver is always a good thing.

Nice silver haul !! I was having trouble hearing some tones on the E-trac but started using 4 tone conductive and the tones are better for my old ears. Been on too many firing ranges during my years in LE I guess. Tell him to give it a try, it helped me.

Thank you for the 4 tone ferrous tip! I'll pass it along.

Been waiting to see the weekend haul, very nice!! At that rate you better not stop anytime soon! What does he have the variability set at? My ears are also very bad and I can hear it just fine so maybe he needs to push the variability up.

He's at 30 on his Variability. I listened through his Koss head phone and they just aren't anywhere near the sound out of my SunRay ProGolds.

Wow, that is a lot of silver! How many hours hunting?

Also, how did you get your nickles looking so nice? I never seem to be able to get them to be anything other than less-red.

Well done! Fantastic collection of coins there.

I started off using the koss headphones on my E Trac and then got myself a set of the sunray pro golds, I found they are a huge improvement over the koss's

Nice finds Duke. Thanks for the pictures.

The silver came in about 5 hours of detecting.

I used Double 00 steel wool. My brother-in-law gave me some. I think I have some Triple 000 here at the house for refinishing my guitars.

The reverse buffalo had 2 wheat pennies sitting right on top of it. That's why there's a black dot on it. The other coins protected it.

Agreed!! I think the SunRay ProGolds are awesome!

It was a another GREAT weekend of 4 visits to my sister's so far this year. Those hunts included 24 silver, multiple buffalo, Indian head and wheat coins and 2 LARGE cents. I think my favorite finds were the 1857 Seated Half Dime, 1900 Barber Quarter and the 2 LARGE. I'm headed back after working 3 days this week.

That was my record weekend so far this followed by a 7 silver weekend and a 5 silver weekend (which included to Seated Liberty coins!) that both occured in May.

This is one reason I'm not trading this machine for a CTX and all it's current bugs.

Thanks for looking! I have had a GREAT summer so far!

I also cashed in $77.00 in clad so far this year.
