well got my silver umax today and wow! i like it.its so quiet even in all metal.just nice clean sound when hitting a good target.i kept it in all metal and found some older nails at 6-7". also 2 nickles and 6 pennies in a part of my yard ive been over a thousand times.it goes plenty deep for all of my hunting needs. i will keep the V for relic hunting and use the silver for all my park-schools-etc.i will check back after a week or so of using it.

I just got a silver and also - wow - on how quiet it is in all metal mode.
It's kind of funny looking but sure works smoothly and is a fun to use machine.
I've only tested it in the backyard but this weekend I'll take it along and put a little time on it. And the discriminate is clean - just like a Tesoro - and the knob to label relation was spot on. Had to reset the knobs just a tad on my Cibola and Tejon, not on the silver. I think I'll whip it and Cortes next hunt.
