Silver Umax question

It can but why mess with such a great machine. I have one and thought about it, and it's just not worth the effort for the little added, also it's more than just that, you have to power tune it, and Monte is the guy to ask, I had to ask him, and his advice I believe was the same as mine. Also it will void the warranty.

There are a couple other forums besides this one with mod info, you may wish to check them. Mods are not as popular with the Tesoro's for the warranty reason.

If the GB is way off for your area, it sputters hard in AM, you can adjust the trim pot without voiding warranty. But yes you can replace it with a manual GB.

Just so you folks know the internal trim pots are made to be adjusted once, but can be adjusted multiple times. They are not made to be continually adjusted at whims notice.
They can be ruined very easily, that's the reason it was put inside.
External pots are made to be cycled over 10,000 times.

I adjusted my internal trimmer and found when I had it set for bad conditions, it had signal overrun on the other 85% of normal sites, so I had to turn the trimmer back and just adjust for the 85% that was normal. It's staying set there.

The primary reason for the inside pots is so the manufacture can sell a different, and cheaper model. I've heard many of Tesoro's units use the same PC board, and why not.....that's smart and bucks is bucks.
