Silver Umax penitrating basalt with the sharpshooter coil,

I did not think the silver could do this but the DD coil made the diff, I the stone made no sound with the DD until i put the coin under it , but the 8" concentric could just not balance out this stone and was silent on the coin under it , Wich prove one point concentrics do not do well in mineralized ground , now take this coil in medium or mild ground and it will whip kookies on the sharp shooter . just showing , also helps to have a GB I have to say I kinda like the sharpshooter , but I also like the Concentric ground will dictate which i use .

Very informative Gunnar. Having a coil that can cut through your mineralized soil / rocks you can now discover the goodies hiding on your farm. :)

Doesn't surprise me much. One time I passed the coil of my SSumax over a fairly thick, large, flat stone off the corner of an abandoned house and got a very strong signal. Having read that folks often buried their stashes under stones I quickly pried up the the rock and dug a bit. Much to my diappointment, someone had buried the ring gear from an old differential there. The largish hunk of iron really gave a solid signal in spite of the stone and a few inches of soil.

Nice vids Gunnar. For the money the Silver is one amazing detector. It is my "go to" detector.
