Silver umax-does yours do this

Hi:
I bought one used.
Funny thing-If I am in all metal mode and I turn the sen.up all the way sometimes I get a little chatter.
If I turn the disc knob sometimes it knocks it out or takes some of it out.
If I pick up some interference in all metal mode,I can turn the disc knob and most of the time eliminate it
It also does not reject nickels.
it will null them out at about 4 inches but f I have it set on nickels and you get within 2 inches it beeps loud and clear and if I turn the Disc all the way up it still signals quite a bit in my yard.
I think I Will send it in.
does yours do this.

Sounds like electrical interference or ground mineralization to me. Try turning the sensitivity down a bit or see how it acts in different locations.

I am going to contact tesoro.

Sorry about the mis-post.
I found three coins with the Umax the 1927 was found with the fisher F5 just before I sent it in.
I keep a log now of my finds and what detector and depth.
Bought the silver umax so I wouldn't go without a detector until mine came back.
I called tesoro and they said it was nothing to worry about.
There is some bleed off between the metal and disc mode.
If I turn the Disc up to tab ,nickels are completely eliminated so I guess you could say it's working right. One thing I know for sure is
all the rhetoric about it being deep is true. If you hunt where you can max out the sensitivity this little detector will surprise you with it's depth.
