I have had my Silver Umax out for a couple of hunts now and am really liking it. Has anyone had any experience with a 10x12 or 8x9 coil on their Silver? I like the stock coil and it is really stable. There are some areas where I would like a little more depth. I appreciate your thoughts.

I prefer the 8 inch doughnut coil over the 9 x 8 coil. It's lighter and it seems to get just as much depth. I haven't tried the 10 x 12, but I heard that it works well with the Silver.
Thanks Tabman. I appreciate all your info on the Silver. You really know this machine. I don't see any need to spend the money unless there is a significant difference. It is pretty sweet just like it is.
I've used them all on the Silver, and while I prefer the stock coil, the 10 x 12 gets a lot more depth. But due to the Silver having a preset ground balance, the coil has to be calibrated to the detector. I sent mine in to Rusty and it came back with a lot more depth.
I pretty much agree with what's been posted. In my experience, on several of my Tesoros, comparing the brown 8" donut versus the 9X8 spider I could never see any noticable difference although I'd say the donut seemed to be just the slightest bit deeper on my DeLeon. Not enough to be impressive or worth changing over for, however.
