Silver umax coil choice question

RJH02

New member
Hi, I am new to the forum but not so new to Tesoro, my first detector was a silver umax, then a Deleon, then back to the silver umax over the course of three years. I want to get another coil for my umax, I don't want a bigger coil as I plan on getting another Tesoro for more depth and area coverage.

. What I do want is to be able to be able to pick thru the trashy sites as well as I can with the umax , do you guys think I should get the 7 in cocentric or 7 in widescan or the 5 3/4 in cocentric coil? Which 7 in coil would be best for a trashy site? I may have to buy both to find out maybe. Thanks

my 5.75" coil is on my Silver

It didn't take long to confirm my suspicions that the 7" was tops. I have long preferred a smaller-than-stock coil and the 7" worked great. As the years progressed and I upgraded to various models, I compared a 7" concentric to the 7" wide-scan (nope, not good), to the 8

Monte ,I always try and read every post you make and try and get it all right in my head. If I recall from what I can gather about the your coil preference , you prefere the 7" Concentric "over" the Troy Super 7. Though the Super 7 has a really good Rep and is used by a many on several of the older and newer Tesoros, your preference for the 7" Con. promps my curiosity about the 2 coils. I keep hoping I can find the opportunity to compare my Compadre 5.75, to my Amigo II (plug added) with the 7"Con. and the Super 7. Should make for some fun playing with them in a trash pile.Compadre will likely outshine the Amigo II in the trash, but I have seen some Amazing depth from the Super7 on the X2.Wonder how much, if any, of that would transfer the Amigo II ?

I like the 5.75 as it gets in the trash well and get respectable depth. I haven't tried the 7"; just been happy with the 5.75

Does the 7" work better than the 5/34" concentric? Or are they about the same as far as performance is concerned? Also, what didn't you like about the brown 8"? The color? Size? Performance? Just curious, thanks!
Don
