silver umax at the beach?

does anyone use the silver umax at the beach? just wondering how it will do. the silver is a great machine! very easy to use and goes alot deeper than i thought. if i would have bought the silver first i wouldnt have bought the vaquero. i like the higher tone of the silver, the all metal switch and how easy it is to use. for instance i found a horse shoe with the 5.75 concentric coil at almost a foot deep with a very loud signal.!! actually i found two that day. the silver is very underated and if anyone here has used one on the beach and says it will work then i will sell my vaquero on ebay.thanks alot!!

does anyone use a silver at the beach? if not does anyone know if it will work in the sand.

You didn't specify if the beach was fresh or salt water so I'll give you my answers for both. No problems at all at a fresh water beach. Dry sand and even shallow water hunting as long as you don't get the housing wet you'll be fine and will find the goodies.

Salt water beaches: Again dry sand, you will find a lot of items. Wet sand starts to get iffy. You may have to turn down the descrimination because of the salt. Forget about the surf. One wave and the detector is soaked. Stay high on the wet sand and on up to the dry sand and you'll find the good stuff.

thanks alot! salt water in north carolina is where i vacation at. im so amazed at how this machine works. have a great day.
