silver uMax and water

bluesky

New member
Hi.........I'm still waiting for my silver uMax to arrive from Dixie metal detectors. I know the boxes on the uMax are not water proof so i don't want to get it wet but the uMax manual says you can put the coil in water. So there saying you could use it shallow waters without a problem? Have any of you with silver uMax's used them in water with any luck? What about shallow ocean water? Thanks for your help.

iv used mine at the salt beach and it does ok until you hit the wet salt sand ,then it will false like crazy.not for salt use! but works well in fresh water.

That's right.

Works great under fresh water.

The problem becomes recovery.

That depends on the bottom.

HH,

A saltwater splash in the control box might be the end of a MD...:sadwalk:
