thinking of selling Silver and maybe my f4 for a xterra 50 pluss coils. I may keep the silver and just get rid of the F4. I still haven't quite got the hang of the F4. the silver I get better at the more I use it but not so much on the F4.

just looking for som insight.
thanks

I started out thinking the ID machines were superior, but I eventually ( 7 years later) found the simplicity of a beep and dig is the best for me.

They have their place and strengths, but a TID isn't for me. Silver Umax FTW

If you're curious you should try the xterra......you never really know till you try it yourself and then you can make an educated decision based on whats good for you. They are fun to learn...that used to be a lot of the enjoyment for me (learning a new machine).

If only we could own them all.

I'd go for the Silver. I think it is one of the better beep and dig machines out there. Simple and it works well and can get deep... TonyTX

I have owned a X-terra 70 for 8 months. I recently bought a Vaquero. I love it, easy to use, deep, light, fun. I found I was a "TID Watcher", and ignoring finds and hits. The Vaquero has found me more silver in 20 days of hunting than the X-Terra in 8 months. I also found my 1st gold with the V.

The X-Terra is a great coin shooter and is easy to use but I ended up trusting it, not ME. Keep the Silver sell the F4 if ya want to. Good luck, Beale.

thanks for the input
I like the silver, don't love it yet but i like it maybe love will come with time. I'm use to using an XLT a tid machine but a Very good detector that gives a lot of info. But I like the pinpointing part as my favorite feature pull the trigger and you get location and depth, It's pretty accurate.

The silver I get better at pinpointing every time I use it. I thought about going to a Cibola for the pinpoint feature but I keep telling my self give it time.

The F4 I feel I'm missing targets, the DD I'm still learning to pinpoint but the 8 inch coil gives funny depths sometimes. so I'm not real confident with it. More confident with the silver.

I bought the silver and the F4 more so for competition hunts for me and the wife we both use XLTs as our main machines.

My two (euro)cents : The more I looked ad TID meters, the more good targets I missed.

The X series from Minelab isn't very popular here in Europe. There are some good reasons for that, too.

Minelab makes better MD's than those Terra things.
