Silver Tally

This is my second full year of detecting and the first that I've found any silver. As my season is dwindling down due to other commitments, I'm beginning to think about my "year end" totals. So my question is, when you count your total silver for the year, do you just count the silver coins or do you count all pieces of silver? I've found about a dozen silver rings and a Sterling fork. Would you add those into your total count?

I like to keep records from year-to-year on what I've found and plan to include these numbers in my little book of finds. Thanks.

Mike

Silver is silver, I would count each item, same with gold.

My total for this year is way down, I got one small silver ring way back in Feb. But I have only logged in about 50 hours of hunting this year.

I made my own spread sheet to track everything I want to track.
Hours hunt
Detector used
coin count
I also like to make line item entry when I buy or sale a detector or detector equipment.
Dater and locationg of hunt.
Special notes or finds

Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to wonder if anyone would post! I guess it doesn't really matter how I keep track of it if I keep detailed records. I just wondered when people say, "I have 108 silvers this year.", if they included everything or they were just talking about the coins. Right now I have 69 silver coins, but I have 9 pieces of silver jewelry. "I have 78 pieces of silver for the year" sounds so much better than "I have 69 pieces of silver for the year". But, I'm not in a competition though I would like to be able to say, at least once in my life, that I had a 100 silver season. It's pretty hard to do where I'm at in Idaho.....at least for me.

I don't keep tract of anything. Been at this for too many years,, I just go out and have fun. Sure I like to find silver coins and I do.. I also like finding gold and silver jewelry too. I just put them in my treasure box. My wife gets the rings that fit one of her fingers. I get the rest. Maybe when I retire I will cash in my gold and silver and buy a small moter home so my wife and I can travel to campgrounds and go metal detecting and make a hell of a living..... I hope... Do what you enjoy doing and have fun... KEN
