I went back to that same old park that I cant get enough of and popped a 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter, 2 coins that I dont know what they are, and a lot of square nails. This is my second Standing Liberty this year and this one has the date. It is one of my favorite coins!

Austria-Coin 1999 2 Groschen, the one I can read.

Nice to find a standing Liberty with the date. They weren't made that many years, and I think it was because the raised design wore so fast.

I too like the Standing Liberty quarters Micky, a very pretty coin. The square nails is a good indication that there might be more older coins as well but with more experience, you should be able to tell that it is a nail in the ground and will not have to dig as many of them...... unless you want to.

Congrats. I know you guys think we are lucky in Europe with the old silver coins (that are thin), you can clean up there with thick silver coins. And considering the silver price, you can pay for your detector quicker than we can!

Yes but the Native Americans didn't leave many gold caches for us to find. :spin: Even the guys on the east coast have an advantage over us here in the middle of the country when it comes to older coins.

 The grass always looks better on the other side of the fence (pond)

I went back today where I found my SLQ yesterday and look what I left behind. About 6 inches from where I found the quarter in the dug up dirt. There is so much trash it was easy to leave it.I even pulled out more square nails! I dont know why im having such good luck but please dont end.
