Silver streak comes to an end, got fake 18K gold and indian

It was calling for 50-60% chance of rain so I knew going out today would really chance me breaking my silver streak if I got rained out........well I was right!!! BadJim and I hit an 1800's home and right away we could tell it was previously hunted, barely any signals. Got a deep 1889 indian, couple wheats and then I got a real deep 09-47. I got excited thought I had a deep silver...well it was a copper ring stamped 18K, man had this been gold it would have been nice, very heavy!

But we did in fact get rained out before I got any silver so my 17 hunt silver streak came to an end. But it's ok, was fun while it lasted!!! Dug almost 30 silvers in August, my best month this year!

Wow that Injun is a beauty. We are just now getting much needed rain here in MO after over 2 months of extreme drought. Over 3" and still coming

Do You Ever Wonder Why People Bother To Wear Fake Gold Or Silver?

I Do

I know everyone does not always have the money for jewelry and prior to these recent years, Gold and Silver were not that much

But i guess that is why there is Vanilla and Chocolate so there is a choice

Congrats and what you have found and What A Wonderful Silver Streak!

wish we could of hunted more then a few hr's.great looking indian bro . the rain looks like its here to stay for a few days

Was it common for copper rings to be fake stamped? Reason i ask is i found a ring earlier this spring at an old one room school house that was no longer used in the 50's, It looks basically like a small mens wedding ring, not nearly as thick as yours, but its stamped just like that on the inside but its obvious to me that the ring is copper?

Yes I have read in the 1800s there was. Ton of copper rings that were gold plated and sold as real gold....have found several of them at old sites. This one weighs 11 grams! Can u imagine if it had been real 18k gold!

What a great IH. Your soil is much nicer to your coins then ours down here to Florida.
Thanks for posting and pix.

Congrats on the great finds ! The streak had to come to an end sometime. You have been tearing it up. Now you can start another silver streak. Keep finding the good stuff because I live off reading about everybodys finds because I can't get out to hunt due to remodeling a house we are about to move into soon.

Nice IH! Unfortunately copper coins around here don't last well in our soil

I'm sorry to hear that your silver streak come to an end but you did find a nice IH tho.

If you keep finding those silver coins like you have been lately and I keep working 7 days a week an not getting out MDing your going to pass me up in the silver coin finds pretty soon and to tell you the truth,,, I hope you do.

I have a new goal this year.....at the start of the year I didnt make any goals, and honestly never thought I would hit 100 silver or 100 indians....but I passed those both awhile back....as far as silver I have no goals, I am happy with what I have now. But I want to beat last years indian total....gonna be tough but if I have a good fall field session, I think I have a chance. Last year I dug 145 indians, and this year I am at 118 so if I get some decent field sites I really think 150 indians in doable!
